Close-up of industrial machinery or mechanical components with metallic parts and gears, in a dimly lit environment.

Hi, I’m Diego Beraun. I’m a senior studying Engineering Mechanics at the University of Illinois, graduating this December.

About me

My main interests are mechanical design, simulation, and product development. Through my projects, I’ve designed mechanical systems like multi-speed transmissions and linkage mechanisms, built and tested physical prototypes, and developed my own finite element solver in Python that I validated against Abaqus. I really enjoy using mechanics and computational analysis to make design decisions and then seeing how those decisions perform in a real system. Right now, I’m looking for an engineering role where I can continue developing those skills in mechanical design and analysis.
